About me

## [About me](#about-me)

Hi, I’m **Mohammad Abu Mattar**. I’m an AWS-certified DevOps engineer and Solutions Architect who enjoys building secure, scalable cloud platforms especially in fintech and other regulated environments.

Since 2017 I’ve worked on high-scale cloud setups across multiple accounts, supporting 20+ production microservices. I focus on keeping systems reliable and secure without slowing teams down. Most of my work revolves around Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and automation so things stay consistent and easy to manage.

Right now, I’m Cloud & DevOps Manager at Motory, running cloud strategy and platform engineering across AWS, Huawei Cloud, and Hetzner for a marketplace serving 1M+ users. Earlier, as Platform Owner at Jordan Ahli Bank, I helped reach a **96% security posture** while keeping deployments smooth and downtime close to zero.

## [What I do](#what-i-do)

Here’s how I usually help teams:

- Build and scale cloud-native systems on AWS
- Set up secure CI/CD pipelines with DevSecOps in mind
- Design multi-account cloud structures that stay organized
- Use Terraform and Terragrunt to manage infrastructure
- Run Kubernetes workloads in production with confidence
- Meet compliance standards like PCI-DSS, CIS, and NIST without adding friction

## [How I think](#how-i-think)

For me, DevOps is mostly about how you approach problems, and only then about tools:

- Keep things simple instead of overengineering
- Automate anything you’ll have to do twice
- Treat security as part of the system, not an extra step
- Build systems that don’t break when it matters most

I try to bring a practical mindset shaped by real production experience, especially in environments where mistakes are costly.

## [Beyond my job](#beyond-my-job)

Outside of work, I like building tools that make developers’ lives easier. That includes:

- AI-powered CLI tools
- AWS-focused utilities and libraries
- Small open-source projects for automation

I enjoy taking complex ideas and turning them into something simple and reusable.

## [What I’m focused on](#what-im-focused-on)

These days, I’m spending more time on:

- Cloud architecture and platform engineering
- DevSecOps and compliance automation
- Kubernetes and microservices at scale
- Cost and performance optimization
