Now
A snapshot of what I'm focused on right now: work, side projects, what I'm learning, and what I'm writing.
This is my now page. It’s what has my attention this month, not a full history. For that, the experience and projects pages exist.
Last updated: July 2026.
Work
I’m Cloud & DevOps Manager at Motory, a large automotive marketplace. That means the cloud strategy and platform engineering across AWS, Huawei Cloud, and Hetzner, plus a DevOps team keeping our production microservices healthy for over a million active users. The part I care about most is staying hands-on. I would rather be in the architecture and the code than only in the roadmap.
Building
Most of my spare time goes into open source:
- QuenchWorks: security-first, 0-CVE hardened container images and Helm charts, built from source on Wolfi, signed and pinned by digest. A free, self-hostable alternative to the Bitnami catalog.
- sysdesign: a Claude Code plugin that wires tradeoff-first system design knowledge into an AI agent.
- The smaller tools I keep alive: NetCalc Pro, the AWS and Devicons icon libraries, Rawi, and a browser-based notebook.
Learning
Two tracks at the moment. One is Kubernetes and platform internals: writing custom operators in Go, tightening our GitOps with ArgoCD. The other is applied AI, building with the Claude API, MCP, and agent skills, and folding them into real DevOps work instead of demos.
Writing
I publish on a regular cadence across the blog, case studies, and the smaller reference collections (cheatsheets, code snippets, devtips). Lately that has been Terraform testing, type-safe APIs end to end, and zero-downtime database work. The changelog tracks what went out and when.
